Monogram crazy!!!

Monograms are so popular these days, and I for one am a huge fan.  I have always loved having a single initial or my three initials or even my name on things.  My daughter Lydia is a girly girl too and loves having her name on things.  Lillie doesn't much care as long as it has a horse somewhere on it she loves it.  Along with monograms these days are the chevron prints and paisley prints and polka dots and gingham.  I have recently been introduced to a t-shirt by a friend who works with a graphics designer that is fit for women that doesn't have long baggy sleeves, and is fitted more across the shoulder for a woman.  Then my girls love t-shirts as well so this monogramed trend is working in our favor.  Here is an assortment of shirts I have made for myself and my kiddos.  If you would wish for me to create one for you or for a friend for a gift contact me at goodystuff@live.com.  Adult sizes are $20 each and child sizes are $15.  These designs could also be used on burp cloths.

Goody Stuff Classic Cotton Hats

Hats are how Goody Stuff came to life!  Unlike some folks I don't use a pattern.  I can't read one, so I have created my own by trial and error.  All of my hats I use 100% cotton yarn.  I don't like to itch, I grew up with a brother who wouldn't wear anything that itched, and my girls won't do itchy.  I have found a cotton yarn that I love, and rightfully it's called Love This Cotton!

Here are a few skeins that I have here at my house that have the label still!  :D  There are several different colors and different shades as well.  Another positive is that it is very durable and sturdy.  I have made my girls several hats out of this brand of yarn and they have been washed and hanged to dry and have been very durable.

I love this yarn because there is no dye lot and little to no color variation between different skeins.  This makes a difference when you have several projects or a large project.

Some of my creations include... the newsboy, the newsgirl, the pompom head, the football head, and the classic beanie.  All of the girl's hats I always add a bow that coordinates with their outfits.  Then when we get indoors we can put the hair bow in their hair.  My oldest Lillie has just turned 7, and she has informed me that she doesn't like bows, and being cute.  I am anticipating our winter with hats and bows being a challenge this year.  Below are pictures of the before mentioned hats.

This is a 2 color striped Pompom head.  They are so cute on little girls!  Toddlers look adorable when they are toddling around because the pompoms shake like they are cheering for their big steps.

All of these hats are a Goody Stuff original!  I created the patterns and all are unique in their own way.  I have some other designs that I have made that will come soon.  Feel free to contact me to purchase you own one of a kind hat for you little one or yourself.  I accept credit and debit cards through paypal.

The Goody Stuff story.

Goody Stuff started as a name that my grandfather, Papaw, gave me when I was a little girl. I had ringlet girls all over my head that made me look similar to Shirley Temple and my Papaw is bald.  He taught me to answer when folks would ask where I got my curls that I got them from my Papaw.

Papaw would carry me on his shoulders to get up the cows on his dairy farm, Four Bees Farm, when  I was little.  I would ride in his International tractor with him while he cut hay, chopped silage, and was with him feeding the cows in the red farm truck.  I was and will forever be his Goody Stuff.

I have always LOVED HATS!!!  When I started my business in 2009 I started with crocheted hats.

My Aunt Brenda and Me when I was little!

My Aunt Brenda had taught me to crochet and I had figured out how to make hats for my daughters Lillie and Lydia.  I put the hats on them every time we would go out to keep their ears covered in the cold air.  When we would go out with one on everyone would ask where I had found those hats.  When my response was that I had made them folks began asking me to make them some.

As the girls got older I began being frugal like my mother and Mamaw by creating outfits for them with t-shirts that I had been embellished with an applique for season, special occasions, and for everyday.  Folks then began to be fans of them as well and wanted me to make shirts for them.

Over the years I have been making things for my children and for gifts for other children and enjoy creating and crafting that I decided to compile all of my Goodies and put them under one umbrella or one business name.  I had branched out and had started making personalized plaques, burlap garden flags, appliqued and embroidered shirts, monogrammed shirts and dish towels, embroidered and embellished dish towels, vinyl decals, and who knows what else will strike me as a goody!  With all of the vast goodies that I had started creating a name that was more descriptive of what I made and were available was more than a challenge.  I thought about it for over 2 months and it hit me that Papaw was on to it even when I as a small child....Goody Stuff.  Goody Stuff has stuck!  So to honor him and all of the fun and good times that we had I have incorporated the Holstein spots in my logo!  I have more than just my logo and business name to the be thankful to Papaw for.  He has always been a great Grandfather, role model, and buddy!   So I guess I am saying thank you to Papaw for the name, and thanks to my girls, Aunt Brenda, Mom, and Mamaw for the inspiration to create all of these Goodys and Stuff.
